How To Turn Wolf Engager Pro On or Off

This guide covers everything you need to know about activating, pausing, and deactivating Wolf Engager Pro on an Instagram account — plus what to do (and not do) while it's running.

Turning Wolf Engager Pro ON

  1. Open your account's task page
  2. At the top of the task settings, find the Status dropdown
  3. Select Active
  4. Click Save

The status indicator next to your Instagram username on the accounts list will turn green within a few seconds — that's confirmation that Wolf Engager Pro is now running for that account.

💡 First time activating? Scroll down to Prorate Settings → Auto-warmup mode and turn it on FIRST. Auto-warmup scales your activity down for the first 7 days so your account can ease into the engagement workflow safely. [See: Auto-warmup Guide →]

Turning Wolf Engager Pro OFF

  1. Open your task page
  2. Set the Status dropdown to Inactive
  3. Click Save

The green status indicator turns gray. The Smart workflow stops within 1–2 minutes — no more likes, follows, story views, or any other actions will be performed for that account until you re-activate it.

💡 You don't lose your settings when you turn the task off. Your target list, action toggles, rate limits, and audience filters all stay saved. Just flip Status back to Active when you're ready to resume.

If you only need to stop activity for an hour or a day (you're using Instagram heavily yourself, or you noticed an unusual day on the platform):

  1. Set Status to Inactive, click Save
  2. Do whatever you need to do
  3. Come back, set Status back to Active, click Save

The Smart workflow resumes from exactly where it left off — same target list, same progress, same stats. Pausing this way doesn't reset anything.

💡 Why not just leave it running? Manual Instagram activity on the same account while Wolf Engager Pro is also running can confuse Instagram's session tracking. It's safer to pause for an hour than to overlap.

While Wolf Engager Pro is running

✅ Safe to do anywhere (phone, web, multiple devices):

  • Respond to DMs
  • Post photos, reels, stories
  • Reply to comments on your own posts
  • Review your insights/analytics
  • Edit your Wolf Engager Pro settings (you can adjust targets, action toggles, and rate limits while it's running)

❌ Avoid doing in parallel:

  • Manually liking lots of posts from your phone (creates overlap with the Smart workflow)
  • Bulk-following or unfollowing accounts manually
  • Sending DMs from the IG app while Wolf Engager Pro is also messaging
  • Switching between IG and Wolf Engager Pro every few minutes

If you need to do any of the "avoid" items, pause the task first (Status → Inactive → Save), do your thing, then resume.

Saving your settings for backup or reuse

If you ever plan to delete the account from Wolf Engager Pro, back up your settings first — it'll save you hours setting up the same account again later or setting up similar accounts.

To copy your settings:

  1. Open the task page
  2. Click Copy Settings in the actions bar at the top
  3. The full settings (including your target list, toggles, rate limits, filters) are copied to your clipboard
  4. Paste them into a notepad, Google Doc, or anywhere safe

To paste settings into another account:

  1. Open the new account's task page
  2. Click Paste Settings
  3. Paste the copied data and confirm
  4. Set Status to Active and Save

You've just cloned your full setup in under a minute.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • ❌ Setting Status to Active without clicking Save — the task won't start; you have to save your changes
  • ❌ Activating a brand-new account at full speed — turn on Auto-warmup mode first if the account is under 7 days old
  • ❌ Manually engaging from the phone while the task is running — see "While Wolf Engager Pro is running" above
  • ❌ Deleting an account without saving its settings — you'll lose hours of configuration work
  • ❌ Forgetting to re-activate after a pause — pop into your accounts list once or twice a day to verify the green indicator is still on

How to tell if it's actually running

Three places to confirm Wolf Engager Pro is active for an account:

  1. Accounts list page — green dot next to the Instagram username
  2. Task page — Status dropdown shows Active, and the Activity Log (link in top-right) shows entries from the last few minutes
  3. Wolf Alerts on Telegram — if you've set up Wolf Alerts, you'll get periodic daily activity reports (see Wolf Alerts Guide)

If the green dot is on but the Activity Log hasn't updated in 30+ minutes, refresh the page — and if it still hasn't updated, contact your Growth Team. Could be a connection issue we can help diagnose.
