Limitations on Instagram Automation
Quick reference card for setting safe limits on your Wolf Engager Pro task. Stick close to these numbers and Activity Pauses become rare.
Daily limits by action
| Action | New (<30 days) | Mid (30–60 days) | Established (60+ days) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Likes | 50 | 75 | 100 |
| Follows | 50 | 75 | 100 |
| Unfollows | 50 | 75 | 100 |
| Comments | 10 | 15 | 20–30 |
| Story Views | 300 | 450 | 600 |
| Story Likes | 50 | 75 | 100 |
| Emoji Reactions | 20 | 30 | 40 |
| Direct Messages | 0 | 5–10 | 15–25 |
⚠️ New accounts: turn on Auto-warmup mode in Prorate Settings. It scales these limits down automatically for the first 7 days, then ramps up. Single biggest reducer of Activity Pauses.
What changes the safe ceiling
Your account's individual capacity depends on:
- ✅ Age — older = more headroom
- ✅ Recent pauses — any pauses in the last 14 days = drop your limits by 30%
- ✅ Posting frequency — accounts that post regularly look more "real" to Instagram and tolerate more activity
- ✅ Audience size — bigger established audiences = more trust, more headroom
- ✅ Login consistency — same device/IP daily = more trust
The numbers above are a safe starting point. After 2 weeks of clean running, you can bump up by 20–30%.
How to scale up safely
After 2 weeks of clean running (no Activity Pauses, no login_required ), bump your limits up gradually:
- Week 3: +20% on the action types working best
- Week 5: +30% if still clean
- Week 7: Reach full capacity, hold there
If any Activity Pause fires during scaling, drop back to the previous level for 2 weeks before trying again.
Signs you're running too hot
Drop your limits if you see:
- ❌ Any Activity Pause in the Activity Log
- ❌
login_requiredflag appearing more than once a week - ❌ Daily stats wildly below your configured limits (probably hitting silent backoff)
- ❌ Compromised Loop (see Activity Pause guide)
Don't do all action types at full speed
The danger zone isn't a single high-speed action — it's 5+ action types running simultaneously at maximum.
Pick 2–3 main actions to run at full capacity. Run others at half capacity or off. Example healthy mix for an established account:
- ✅ Likes — 100/day (full)
- ✅ Follows — 100/day (full)
- ✅ Story Views — 600/day (full)
- 🔶 Comments — 10/day (half — lowest tolerance for volume)
- 🔶 Unfollows — 50/day (every other day clean-up)
- ⏸ DMs — off until first month is clean
- ⏸ Emoji Reactions — off, or 20/day max
